The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council authorizes the expenditure of up to $350 to purchase 17W Solar Charger Kit (http://www.voltaicsystems.com/17-watt-kit) and a 10’ extension cord from Voltaic. The kit includes a solar panel and battery capable of charging laptops and tablets. It will be used for presentations/displays at the Green Tent as well as at Showcase Central. And be available for use by other MVCC events.

Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council agrees to co-sponsor the LADWP’s California Friendly Landscape Planning scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Public Library and approves the expenditure of up to $200 for the purchase of food, beverages and serving supplies.
Resilience by Design community meeting
The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council agrees to co-sponsor with the Mayor’s office and provide refreshments for a Resiliency by Design community meeting on April 23 with Dr. Lucy Jones and approves the expenditure of up to $200 for refreshments for a projected attendance of 100.

File of Life
File of Life (http://www.folife.org/) provides first responders with a more complete profile of a person in an emergency. It ensures that pets are not overlooked and left to starve when a patient is taken to the hospital. It gives responders complete and up to date information on meds, doctors, pharmacy and emergency contacts and is readily recognized. MVCC approves the purchase of approximately 1000 MVCC-sponsored File of Life refrigerator magnet card sets @ $.76 each (not to exceed $1,000 with shipping and tax).
National Night Out at Sunland-Tujunga High School
MVCC grants $1,000 for equipment rental, publication printing, movie rights, and emergency kit equipment.
Ink for Sunland-Tujunga High School printer
The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council authorizes the expenditure of up to $350forthepurchase of ink for Sunland-Tujunga High School’s color printer.
Sunland-Tujunga High School Spirit Campaign
The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council authorizes a $250 neighborhood purpose grant in support of a Sunland-Tujunga High School Spirit Campaign that seeks to raise the profile of pride and awareness in the community support following the unwanted international attention at VHS in March.
Grand View/McBride Elementary School
The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council authorizes a neighborhood purpose grant not to exceed $510 for the purchase of playground equipment.
MAY
Allocate Bill Koontz $98.34 for refreshments purchased for the Mayor’s Resilience by Design forum.
Allocate CBS Distribution for up to 6 newsletters per year, not to exceed $3500 per issue. This is an annual funding request.

Motion to approve up to $750 for National Night Out/Neighborhood Watch for food, printing costs, services and rentals. Cooperation to be sought from Westdale HOA, Hilltop Neighborhood Assoc, Westside Village HOA, MVNA, LA City Parks and Rec and more.
  
Motion to approve $1000 for Neighborhood Watch Signs. Signs $750 plus tax and shipping and may need extra banding supplies. List of future sign locations to be kept. All signage to be within the MVCC boundaries and with wordage to the effect that signs were paid for by the MVCC.
 
AUGUST
Motion to approve up to $300 for MVCC ad in the NWNA newsletter.
 
Motion to approve funding, not to exceed $300, for September 12, 2014 NWNA Talent Show.
 
SEPTEMBER
Motion to approve up to $550 for the Hilltop Neighbors Association Annual Picnic/Potluck on October 11, 2014. The money will be used for the rental of tables/chairs from Abby Rents. Any funds left over will be used to purchase food, paper goods, condiments, and other supplies from Smart & Final or Von’s. 

Motion to approve up to $300 for Westdale Homeowners Association Block Party on October 12, 2014. The money will be used for food, beverage, and paper goods.

OCTOBER
 
Motion to approve payment to CBS Advertising Distributors, LLC for distribution of newsletters in the amount of $1679.00.
 
Motion to revise the Hilltop Neighborhood Association funding to use funds for tables and chairs from ABY Rentals as well as food and beverages, and not the petting zoo.
 
NOVEMBER
Approval of funding request by William Scheding for reimbursement of postage in the amount of $29.95.

 

Whereas the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Pop-Up Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council event on November 29th, 2014. Therefore, the MVCC grants approval for funding in the amount of $350to provide promotional support. Promotional materials such as banners and maps will be printed and the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council logo will be displayed along with all other sponsors' logos. In addition, the Chamber asks for support in the form of a website post and e-blast to promote the event prior to the date. In addition and in as the event will encourage walking and biking to local businesses, MVCC grants approval for the Green Committee to provide promotional support.  The Green Committee’s logo will be displayed along with all other sponsors’ logos.

 

Purchase and update Santa Sleigh Stop Signs and materials-not to exceed $200.

Support Pacific LAPD’s Winter Wonderland Toy Drive and Give-Away Program-not to exceed $2000 for supplies, toys, food and rental of equipment.

FUNDING MOTION: EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:  MVCC FALL NEWSLETTER: Motion to hire Laura Bodensteiner, original designer of the MVCC newsletter, at an hourly rate of $25/hour not to exceed $500 [20 hours] to refresh the newsletter‘s masthead, which is 10 years old, and lay out the copy, including revisions and proofs. NOTE: A newsletter layout takes between 10-15 hours depending on length (4 or 8 pages). Estimate for masthead’s re-fresh with 1-2 revisions is 2-3 hours. Ms Bodensteiner has an up to date BTRC.

Copies will be delivered by volunteers at local at local businesses, churches, community centers and schools to advertise upcoming Cal Fresh Assistance Program at the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Farmers Market for qualifying families on May 6 The Committee also recommends that the MVCC donate bags so that every person that applies for the Cal Fresh program receives a free bag. 2.  Funding Motion for Keeshan Dr Block Party:  To approve an allocation of no more than $500 to support the Keeshan Drive Block Party summer 2009 event contingent on the following conditions:

          i) All publicity for the event must include a reference to MVCC sponsorship

          ii) The organization or group putting on the block party must provide a forum for public introduction of the MVCC to the attendees at the party. In addition, the MVCC shall be allowed to host a booth or table where promotional materials can be distributed.

3.  Funding Motion for Ad in South Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Newsletter:   The MVCC allocates the final allocation of $300 for the South Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Neighborhood Association out of the $6,000 August 12, 2008 MVCC funding motion for neighborhood association newletters to the South Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Neighborhood Association to pay for an ad that will be placed in their Spring 2009 newsletter. This funding motion must meet all City of LA funding guidelines and be funded and paid in the fiscal year which it is passed or it expires on June 30, 2009.

4.  FUNDING MOTION: for Graffiti Removal Services: MVCC agrees to pay $5,000 to Pacific Graffiti Solutions for the removal of graffiti and weeds in and around the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council area with documentation of such removal to be provided by Pacific Graffiti Solutions. This funding motion must meet all city of L.A. funding guidelines and be funded and paid in the fiscal year in which it passed or it expires.

January 8, 2008

1)  Funding Motion to allocate $1000 for the development and production of signage and handouts for MVCC Outreach.       

2)  Funding Motion to allocate $8000 to develop a new MVCC website.

3)  Funding Motion to allocate $3000 in support of the Mayor's Day of Service for supplies and services for projects and events.

 

February 12, 2008

1)  FUNDING MOTION:  To close out project expenditures related to the MVCC Board motion on August 9th, 2005 allotting $5,000 for Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Park Soccer Field bicycle racks, boulders, and related costs, with a balance remaining unspent, and approve spending up to $1,500 on fencing and netting materials for the park's hockey rink (as part of the Community Day of Service project).

2)  FUNDING MOTION: Increase Community Day of Service budget by $3,000 (up to $6,000) to consider new projects as a result of the rescheduling of the event to March 15, 2008, and "no more than $250 for trees, stakes and materials for the Mar. 29, 2008 tree maintenance/planting on Palms Blvd."

 

May 13, 2008

1)  FUNDING MOTION: Accept proposed annual MVCC Budget for 2008-2009

2)  FUNDING MOTION:  to accept the bid of $7,500 from SASNetDesign to design, develop, and implement a new MVCC website based on the MVCC web site design specifications.

3)  FUNDING MOTION:  to approve an allocation of no more than $500 to support the North Oval Run Block Party and Walk/Run event contingent on flyers/advertisements put out for the event reading "Partial funding provided by Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council."

4)  FUNDING MOTION:  to approve allocation $200 for Green Committee related programs and supplies Fiscal Year '07-'08.

5)  FUNDING MOTION: To approve allocation for up to $3,500 for general administrative support and data input and analysis related to Santa Monica Airport Survey Motion passed unanimously.

 

August 12, 2008

1.  FUNDING MOTION: Motion to Allocate MVCC Funds for Neighborhood Association newsletter and Approval of Request for Information.

The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council shall allocate up to $6,000 to pay for advertising in Neighborhood Association newsletters, with the distribution of these funds being divided so that each MVCC Zone will receive $1,000. The actual payment of such funds will take place upon MVCC receiving a request from a Neighborhood Association (NA), the NA filling out the Request for Information (see attachment A), and Board approval of the request. This allocation will be available for only the fiscal year July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.

 

September 9, 2008

1.  FUNDING MOTION: The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council will partner with the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Recreation Center to present the Fall Festival at the Mar Vista Park, and allocates $2,500 to help pay for printing and other costs. The MVCC will be identified as a co-sponsor on promotional materials.

2.  FUNDING MOTION: The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council will allocate up to $500 to create and print 2 copies of a MVCC promotional PAK poster.

3.  FUNDING MOTION: To allocate $1,500 for promotional items to be used at Quarterly Stakeholder meeting and other events. Will have the MVCC logo included.
