Recreation and Parks Department is estimating $3.8 milliion to renovate the western portion of Sunland Park in order to accommodate a new dog park, based on an initial conceptual plan formulated by Department staff. The proposed scope of work for this project includes the following:
• Construction of a new small dog park and a new large dog park;
• Removal of the park's half-court basketball court;
• Renovation of existing park amenities such as the skate park, two tennis courts, and full basketball court;
• Installation of new outdoor fitness equipment; and,
• Installation of shade structures in the dog park, new landscapting and irrigation, and new walkways to connect the various proposed amenities.

The Budget Advocates are asking Neighborhood Council members and stakeholders to provide input on their issues with the City Budget and City services. The responses will be collated into a report that will be delivered directly to members of the City Council’s Budget, Finance and Innovation Committee and will be attached to Council File 23-0600, the council file for the 2023-2024 budget after it is created. effective on March 4, 2020, terminated on February 1,
2023. These provisions apply to ALL residential units in
the City of Los Angeles. However tenant protections
have been enacted that are in effect now.

28 people attended this in-person meeting at Tujunga IHOP. Our LAPD hosts were Foothill Capt. Marco Lozano, SLOs Eric Herrera and Eric Pérez, and SMART Officer Hernández.
This year looks to be a very bad year for foxtails, likely because of all the rain. Foxtails can cause serious injury and even death, so please watch out for your dogs and cats.
