Little Landers Historical Society invites visitors to view a recently installed temporary exhibit at Bolton Hall Museum featuring our local pioneer cemetery, now in its 100th year.  The first burial was that of beloved local preacher, Pastor Wornum, on April 22, 1922.  The Hills of Peace, as it was known early on, became the final resting place of many local community pioneers with burials continuing through the late 1970’s.

The exhibit traces the history of the cemetery through good times and not so good times up to today’s restoration conducted by the Friends of the Verdugo Hills Cemetery

Exhibit Viewing Hours through June, 2022 are Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. and by appointment.

Hello, Friends of the Verdugo Hills Cemetery! Thank you to all the women out there who have given your time to the cause. I call you the “Cass-Ketts”! An additional thank you to all the men who have contributed as well. You, I refer to as, the Coff-Hims! It’s The Dead Hill Gang… (Full on Benevolent, of course) and I am the Undertaker of this restoration.

As we near the home stretch before our big reveal and centennial celebration, we have added a Facebook Page to share information, and a Facebook Group for discussion. I call on all members of The Dead Hill Gang (AKA The Friends of the Verdugo Hills Cemetery) to join, like, participate, share posts and photos widely! Please feel free to invite others and be sure to set your notifications to receive all updates! https://www.facebook.com/friendsofVHC And if you enjoy posting to social media, please get in touch! We'd like to add another admin/editor to help us pump-up the volume on our Facebook feeds!

See you at the cemetery,
