Dear Residents and Business Owners of Los Angeles,
From May 15-22nd, California will again host The Amgen Tour of California, the largest professional cycling race in North
America. This is an eight-day race featuring the same teams and rider that will compete in this year’s Tour de France.
Stage 2 will start in South Pasadena on May 16th at 12:05 p.m. and finish in Santa Clarita at 3:45 p.m. The race moves at 25-30 mph so it should pass by any given point in about 5 minutes. The entire race caravan is about one mile in length. CHP will accompany the race and make every effort to minimize the impact on the residents, businesses, and traffic. The race will be broadcast live on NBS Sports to 200 countries around the globe.
The race route will head south on Big Tujunga Canyon from Angeles Forest and come into the Sunland area on Oro Vista Ave. Notices to surrounding residents, businesses are being distributed this week. See attachment for more details and information.
