Spotlight on 2 Valley Neighborhoods Committed to Emergency Planning!
January 8, 2016
With the first round of El Nino just behind us and the ever present threat of the “Big One” – Earthquake, two community leaders in the Sunland-Tujunga and Canoga Park areas of our City have taken on the task of developing an emergency plan for themselves and immediate neighbors. Community leaders Pat Kramer and Corinne Ho have decided that they do not want to be unprepared and feel that helping their neighbors develop a plan for themselves is critical.
“We have to realize that we are the ones who are responsible for our own emergency preparedness” stated Corinne Ho.
With that in mind the leaders are organizing meetings for their neighbors so that when disaster strikes they will be able to respond and recover quicker. Both leaders are very active in their communities and do not want to leave emergency preparedness unanswered.
According to Pat Kramer, “The more planning we do ahead of a disaster, the faster our neighbors can get back to normal life after the disaster.”
Both Pat and Corinne feel that having a mindset of denial such as “It will never happen” should not be anyone’s plan!
