The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council is holding elections this year. Voting will be In-Person and Vote-By-Mail.    Request your ballot

Who is on the Neighborhood Council?

The Neighborhood Council board members are volunteers. They are public officials elected by the members of their community. Board members serve two-year terms.

Apply Online: The candidate application period begins on February 3 and ends on March 20.

Candidates do not need to be US citizens or legal residents to qualify.

Candidate applications can be found on the City Clerk’s website: https://clerk.lacity.org

When is the STNC election?

Election Day is Saturday, June 3, 2023

If I get elected, what is expected of me?

You are expected to attend 1-2 meetings each month (1-2 hours each). These meetings include hearing presentations from the City. You should become familiar with the STNC Bylaws, Standing Rules, Parliamentary Procedure, and Public Records Act. All board members are required to serve on one committee. We have the following committees:

  • Land Use
  • Traffic Safety
  • Community Improvement
  • Arts, Culture & Recreation
  • Beautification
  • Budget
  • Executive
  • Outreach
  • Bylaws & Standing Rules
Information for Voters 

Who can vote?

Participation is open to those who live, work, own property, or a business within an NC’s boundaries. The minimum age to vote is 16.

When is the STNC election?

Election Day is Saturday, June 3, 2023

When is the last day I can request a vote-by-mail ballot?

I’m already registered to vote in California. Do I still need to request a ballot for this election?

Yes, all eligible voters must request a ballot through the City Clerk’s Office.  Those records do not crossover into the Neighborhood Council voter registrations.
