- February 3, 2023 — Candidate Filing Period Begins
- March 20, 2023 – Candidate Filing Period Ends
- April 4, 2023 – Vote-By-Mail Application Period Begins
- May 15, 2023 – Last day to apply for Vote-By-Mail Ballots
- June 3, 2023 — Ballots must be postmarked by this date.
- Saturday, June 3, 2023 — Election Day!

What is a Neighborhood Council Boardmember?
STNC Boardmembers are volunteers chosen by their stakeholders to weigh-in on city matters on behalf of Sunland-Tujunga. They are
elected officials of the City of Los Angeles serving two-year terms. The City Council and Mayor’s Office turn to them to understand local concerns and hear ideas. Boardmembers spend
10—20 hours per week serving their 65,000 stakeholders. They are officially recognized community leaders and have the responsibilities that entails. See

Who can run?
Any STNC
stakeholder aged
18 or older can run. A “stakeholder” is anyone who lives, works, owns property, or participates in a Community Organization within
STNC’s boundaries. Go

A “Community Organization” is an entity that has continuously maintained a physical street address within the boundaries of the neighborhood council for not less than one year, and that performs ongoing and verifiable activities and operations that confer some benefit on the community within the boundaries of the neighborhood council. The organization must be a non-profit. A for-profit entity shall not qualify as a Community Organization.
