Public Counter Office Hours
As a reminder, only our Van Nuys public counter is open. Below is the adjusted schedule:
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Wed: 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Thurs: 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
*The Van Nuys Public Counter will be closed from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., daily.

Did you receive a Notice
of Non-Compliance?
If you have received a Notice of Non-Compliance, it is because our records indicate that you have registered previously for a Business Tax Registration Certificate, but have not yet filed for your annual renewal and failed to make your payment for the given tax period.
If you have filed and paid for your annual Business Tax Renewal, then please disregard the mailing. If you have not filed and paid, you have multiple options to bring your account in good standing with the City of Los Angeles.

Safer L.A.: Toolkits for Businesses
The City has aligned with the County of LA to allow for additional businesses to resume operations as of Friday, June 12, 2020. These businesses include gyms and fitness centers, museum, galleries, hotels for leisure and day camps and their pools within the City of L.A. Film, TV and music production were also allowed to resume.
There are required protocols and directives for opening these businesses. The County's required protocols are available for download. Sidewalk Vending Permit Fee Update
City Council has extended the discounted Sidewalk Vending Permit Fee. Initially the discounted rate of $291 was available until July 1, 2020. The rate is extended to July 1, 2021 or 1 year after the Safer at Home Order is lifted.

Free COVID-19 Testing
Free COVID-19 Testing is now available for all Los Angeles County residents. The City of Los Angeles in partnership with the County of Los Angeles and Community Organized Relief Efforts (CORE) is now offering free testing. Testing is by appointment only and is available to residents regardless of if you are or are not experiencing symptoms. To sign up for testing please visit,
