This week, Mayor Garcetti launched a program to provide financial assistance for low-income households in Los Angeles. The Angeleno Card is a no-fee debit card that will be available to a limited number of households. Applicants must meet all three of the following criteria to be eligible:

  1.  Household is in the City of Los Angeles;
  2. Households with total annual incomes that fell below the federal poverty level prior to the COVID-19 crisis; and
  3. Households that have fallen into deeper economic hardship during the crisis because at least one household member has lost a job or experienced a reduction in income of at least 50%.
Note that immigration status is not considered in determining eligibility and the City will not ask about it. The application will close on Thursday, and is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm. You can access the application online here, or apply by calling 213-252-3040.

Additionally, this week Mayor Garcetti's office launched a website to help dispel Covid-19 myths. It's crucial that we fight misinformation during this crisis, so make sure you read through some of the most pervasive myths and ensure you have accurate information.
