The Angeleno Card
Posted on 04/14/20This week, Mayor Garcetti launched a program to provide financial assistance for low-income households in Los Angeles. The Angeleno Card is a no-fee debit card that will be available to a limited number of households. Applicants must meet all three of the following criteria to be eligible:
- Household is in the City of Los Angeles;
- Households with total annual incomes that fell below the federal poverty level prior to the COVID-19 crisis; and
- Households that have fallen into deeper economic hardship during the crisis because at least one household member has lost a job or experienced a reduction in income of at least 50%.
Note that
immigration status is not considered in determining eligibility and the City will not ask about it. The application will close on Thursday, and is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm. You can access the application
