Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council

Do you know why Union Station is named Union Station (and why its formal name is Union Passenger Terminal)?  Do you know how Union Station changed from a long-distance train station to primarily a commuter hub?  Do you know about the Harvey Girls, the servers in Union Sation's Harvey Restaurant (which closed in 1967 and reopened last year as the Imperial Western Beer Company and Streamliner bar)? This program will answer these and other questions.  It will cover Union Station's history, main architectural features and restoration.  It will also show scenes from some of the over 100 movies, commercials and music videos that were shot at Union Station.  And you'll learn other fun things at Union Station, such as how to see the images and request music in Bill Bell's A-Train interactive artwork.

Saturday, Oct. 12, 1 p.m. at Bolton Hall Museum, 10110 Commerce Avenue, Tujunga.
