The annual Congress of Neighborhoods is the Neighborhood Council system’s largest event of the year, bringing over 800 Neighborhood Council leaders from across Los Angeles together at City Hall for a day of education and networking. This year’s event happens Saturday, September 9th. Over 30 workshops will be available to help you and your Council make great connections; learn how to be more effective board members; and improve quality of life issues in your community.
The NC Congress is entirely planned and paid for by the Neighborhood Councils of Los Angeles. It is funded by sponsorships from Neighborhood Councils across the City, who allocate funds to the Congress from their annual budgets, and it is coordinated and staffed entirely by volunteers.
Meals, parking, and workshops are 100% free of charge to everyone who registers for the NC Congress (registration will open the first week of August). Instructors, planners, and event staff all volunteer their time and expertise, without compensation.
Email [email protected] to get involved. Workshops cover basic topics like planning and land use or public safety, as well as current hot topics that will inspire you and increase your effectiveness as a Neighborhood Council leader.
